When you use LetItSimmer, we collect:

• Account info: Name, email address, password (encrypted — we can’t read it either)
• Content you create: Recipes, feedback, ratings, variations, photos
• Usage data: What recipes you view, cook, and save; how you interact with our AI agents; your cooking preferences and patterns
• Device info: Browser type, device type, general location (not precise GPS — we’re not tracking you to the kitchen)

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Run the platform (obviously)
• Personalize your experience — show you recipes you’ll love, remember your preferences
• Improve our AI agents — your feedback helps Saffron create better recipes, Basil provide better science, and Pepper curate more effectively
• Generate aggregated, anonymized insights about cooking trends and recipe performance
• Send you important updates about your account or the platform
• Prevent abuse and keep the community safe

3. What We Don’t Do

We take this seriously:

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Period.
• We do not share your email with advertisers
• We do not track your precise location
• We do not read your password (it’s hashed — even we can’t see it)

4. Aggregated & Anonymized Data

We may share anonymized, aggregated insights with partners. For example: “Thai recipes are trending 40% more this month” or “Users who add miso to chocolate cake rate it 4.8 stars.” This data cannot be traced back to you personally.

5. AI & Your Content

Your recipes and feedback are used to improve our AI agents. When you tell Saffron your recipe or give feedback to Basil, that information helps make recipes better for everyone. Your content may be processed by AI systems to generate improvements, variations, and food science insights.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We may use analytics tools to understand how people use the platform. We don’t use cookies for advertising.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted passwords, secure HTTPS connections, and protected databases. But no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and personal data
• Export your recipes and data
• Opt out of non-essential communications

Note: Content you’ve contributed to the community (recipes, feedback that improved other recipes) may persist in anonymized form even after account deletion, as it’s part of the collective recipe evolution.

9. Children’s Privacy

LetItSimmer is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy. We’ll notify you of significant changes. Your continued use of LetItSimmer means you accept the updated policy.
