the short version

How LetItSimmer Works

Most recipe sites are graveyards. Someone posts a recipe, it sits there forever, and 50 people in the comments say “I added cumin and it was way better” but the recipe never changes. We fixed that.

Step 1

Pick a Recipe or Create One

Browse hundreds of recipes from the community, or tell Saffron what you’re working with. “I’ve got chicken, half a lemon, and a prayer” is a valid starting point.

Saffron will build you a complete recipe with ingredients, steps, timing, and food science tips from Basil. It’s like having a creative chef and a food scientist in your kitchen.

🌿
Step 2

Cook It and Share What Happened

Made the recipe? Tell us how it went. Was it too salty? Did you double the garlic? Did your smoke alarm go off? (No judgment.)

Your feedback isn’t just a comment that disappears. Basil analyzes every piece of feedback across all cooks, finds patterns, and identifies what actually works.

Step 3

Watch the Recipe Evolve

Saffron creates an improved variation based on real cooking feedback. Not a replacement — a new version that coexists with the original. Think of it like a recipe family tree.

Pepper tracks which versions perform best and makes sure the top-rated ones rise to the top. Darwinian recipe selection, powered by real people who actually cook.

Questions People Ask

Is the AI just making stuff up?+

Nope. Saffron creates recipes using real food science principles, and Basil's tips are based on actual culinary chemistry. But the real magic is the community — the AI gets smarter from real human feedback.

Can I still use my own recipes?+

Absolutely. You can upload any recipe, and the community can help evolve it over time. Your original always stays as Version 1.

What if I disagree with a 'better' version?+

Every version coexists. The original never disappears. You can cook whichever version you prefer. The community votes with their pans.

Is my feedback anonymous?+

Your name appears on feedback, but you can keep it general. We want accountability because it leads to better feedback.

How is this free?+

We believe great recipes should be accessible to everyone. We'll figure out the business model later. Right now we're focused on building the best recipe platform on the internet.
